Dexter just proposed to Rita. I can't be the only one wondering how the writers are going to pull this off. I'm just having a hard time imagining a serial killer as a husband and father figure for two kids. Although the whole concept of the show may be a stretch from reality, at least it was somewhat plausible that a middle aged, non-social, single guy (Dexter) could be a cop by day and a serial killer by night. My prediction is that Rita will have a miscarriage, the marriage will be called off and Dexter will return to stalking his victims. If that doesn't happen, then the show will end this season and I will have to find something else to blog about.

What kind of person watches Dexter?
Since i have started this blog I have found myself talking about it more frequently with other people. Most of the time I find myself explaining the premise of the show and why I like it. Each time I explain what the show is about I wonder how strange it is that a show about a serial killer became so popular. He breaks laws, violates policies, and gets away with murder yet somehow you can't help but think of him as the good guy. I have to admit I even find myself approving of his own form of vigilante justice as he "takes out the trash" of society in order to save a life. I found it particularly interesting that Dexter point out to Doakes that the only difference between when he kills someone and a police offer kills someone is that he doesn't collect a paycheck for his kills. I think the fact that Dexter takes the law into his own hands to satisfy his urge to kill while also helping rid society of killers who have beat the system is why I think the show is so compelling. If you are interested in getting into the series, Showtime is running a special $25 rebate offer. You can order it on Comcast Cable TV or either of the Satellite TV Provider, DishNetwork or DirecTV. How I Became a Dexter Fan
About a year ago Showtime sent a box of goodies with T-shirts, pens, mugs, DVD's, etc. Somehow I ended up with season 2 of Dexter and a t-shirt that read "Dexter-A Killer New Series". I wore the shirt for about a year without actually even seeing an episode. I constantly received comments about how good the show is whenever I wore the shirt. Finally a coworker gave me season one. I Watched first 4 episodes in one night and I was hooked. I polished off season 1 and 2 over the next two weeks and by pure coincidence I finished season two just in time to watch the season premier last Sunday. Needless to say I'm a Dexter fan, and I plan to watch season 3 diligently. I hope to find other Dexter fans who share my enthusiasm for the show.
